These are stunning Phidippus adumbratus young adult males.
They have been captive bred by us.
They left the nest 4/ 2025
They are 10-12 mm
And feeding very well on green bottle flies.
adumbratus are a stunning species, which have movements that look like they are under a strobe light.
A dashing combination of red, white and grey, with stripey legs, and very bushy palps.
A hard act to follow.
They are inquisitive, and very friendly.
Adumbratus are a species that need to be kept dryer, preferably with an arid soil substrate, although a Bio-Active set up with live plants suits them well, providing you only water the base of the plants and not the whole soil.
We keep ours with soil for arid species, in Bio-Active set ups, and lightly mist plant leaves occasionally.
Temperature and humidity the same as Phidippus regius.
They are an easy to keep species.
Please remember to provide a bright white light directly above the enclosure for their well being.
